150 Ton Four Column Press

Phoenix Hydraulic Presses designed and assembled two 150 Ton Four Column Presses. These presses are used by suppliers of jet engines and are capable of producing parts to six sigma criteria.

The platens 84" x 36" were flat and parallel to one another within 0.015 inches. The platen surface was ground flat to within 0.007 inches and had a finish of 30 RMS.

The presses which are used for molding have two independent zones (upper and lower mold halves). The heating of the mold zones was accomplished by energizing the 3-way valve and controlling the proportional steam valve with a temperature controller. The heating and cooling system included.
